Mission Statement
The department of Management Information and Institutional Research (MIIR) provides:
• precise statistical and management information to all units of the polytechnic,regulators, and other stakeholders;and
• designs, develops, and implements institutional research strategies and techniques to conduct research in order to provide information which supports institutional planning, policy formulation, decision making, and external reporting.
Vision Statement
The MIIR department aims to be recognized for its excellent customer services; provide reporting for informed decision making that is unbiased and of the highest quality; and provide timely information in ways that are both accessible and useful while using state of the art technology.
About this office
This office was established in 2006, under the Bureau of Computer Services. The MIS office aims to transform data and information into the knowledge essential to support the strategic goals of the Polytechnic of Namibia in promoting transparency, effectiveness, efficiency, and high standards in higher education. When fully developed, the office will contain student, staff, financial, research and the polytechnic space data along with an array of reports to complement this data. Currently the MIS contains finance, staff and some student data.
